PCF Donates New #ConnaughtonCourt to West Allis Central High School
WEST ALLIS, WI – The Pat Connaughton Foundation (PCF), dedicated to creating access to athletics for the next generation of student-athletes, and West Allis Central High School are proud to announce the refurbishment and donation of a new basketball court as part of the larger Ed Stech Fieldhouse renovation project. This marks another milestone in the Foundation’s commitment to revitalizing courts and enhancing opportunities for young athletes.
Since its establishment in 2016, the Pat Connaughton Foundation has been committed to teaching translatable life skills to the next generation of student-athletes. The donation and refurbishment of the West Allis Central High School court represents the latest addition to the growing #ConnaughtonCourt initiative, which has contributed over $2,000,000 in court donations to date. This partnership underscores a shared mission of empowering young individuals and fostering community engagement through athletics.
“We are incredibly thankful to the Connaughton Foundation for their generous support in bringing a new basketball court to the fieldhouse,” said Dr. Tarrynce Robinson, Superintendent of the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District. “The fieldhouse is more than just a place for athletics—it is a vital part of our community, hosting music programs, activities, and events that bring people together. The impact of this project will be tremendous, providing opportunities that benefit not only our students but the entire West Allis-West Milwaukee community. We are excited to see this vision come to life and grateful for the foundation’s commitment to making a lasting difference.”
The Ed Stech Fieldhouse, named in 2015 after Central’s longtime wrestling coach, has a capacity of 3,800 and has hosted numerous athletic tournaments, city-wide concerts, PTA carnivals, and more. It was home to the Team Wrestling State Finals and commemorates notable athletes, including Olympic silver medalist Chellsie Memmel and multiple WAC alumni who represented Team USA in the Olympics. When originally constructed in 1973, the basketball floor was nearly unusable due to a faulty application of finish top coats. It has since been refinished and remains a central space for athletics and community events.
“The history of this fieldhouse and the athletes, teams, and events that have shaped it are truly remarkable,” said Joe Stanton, Development Manager of the Pat Connaughton Foundation. “To be a part of its next chapter by contributing a refurbished Court is an incredible honor. We look forward to seeing the impact it has on both the athletes and the greater West Allis community for years to come.”
