by Rebecca Seymour (THEOAF.ORG) —
Milwaukee Bucks champion Pat Connaughton will host a basketball clinic for kids ages 8 to 12 who attend school (public and private) in the Oconomowoc Area School District Tuesday, September 12 at the Lake Country DockHounds baseball facility located at 1011 Blue Ribbon Circle in Oconomowoc.
The Pat Connaughton Foundation, along with Three Leaf Partners is sponsoring the event as a fundraiser benefiting the mission of the Oconomowoc Area Foundation. Adults accompanying youth participating in the clinic are also invited to the event.
To help kick off the festivities at 4:30 p.m., Milwaukee Bucks National Anthem singer and Oconomowoc’s own Ben Tajani will perform his world-famous rendition of the National Anthem.
The basketball clinic will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. and promises to be a slam dunk with thrilling hoops action, swag bag, and a chance to see a basketball superstar in action.
At 6:30 p.m. there will be an all-you-care-to-eat Lake Country DockHounds Ballpark Fare Buffet, including hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, pasta and fruit salads, nacho chips/cheese and dessert will be served for all guests. There will also be complimentary soda, juice, and bottled water, and a cash bar.
“On behalf of the Oconomowoc Area Foundation, I want to express how thrilled we are to help bring this caliber of event to our community and especially the kids. Supporting programs for our youth is one of our core objectives. Doing that with a pro athlete, like Pat Connaughton, and his foundation and Three Leaf Partners is just over the top,” said Bob Johnson, OAF board chairman.
The Pat Connaughton Foundation was founded in 2016 with the mission of creating access to athletics for the next generation of student athletes, through courts clinics and character. The PCF focuses on teaching them the translatable life skills sports teach us – hard work, teamwork, leadership, accountability, discipline and more.
To date the PCF has completed five courts, with three courts in progress. During the last eight years the PCF has hosted 17 clinics and impacted over 18,400 youth student-athletes. For more information, visit www.patconnaughtonfoundation.org
